I love summer. It's hands down my favorite time of the year, although I enjoy spring and fall, as well. But there is just something about summer -- hot weather, suntans, shorts and t-shirts, being able to go to the lake and beach, sunglasses -- it just lifts my spirits. Well...summer is officially over here in Alabama. The high for the next week or so will be tomorrow at around 69 degrees, and the low will be around 61 degrees. Time to break out the long sleeves! I am happy with the "colder" air until January 1...then I want it to be hot again.
I forgot to post the meal plan this week (Ok, I didn't FORGET...I just have had too much on my plate to actually DO it...) so here goes:
Monday: we ate out at Cracker Barrell
Tuesday: fried pork chops and black eyed peas
Wednesday: chile rellenos and spanish rice
Thursday: general tso's chicken, chicken fried rice
Friday: spaghetti, salad
Saturday: honey grilled pork chops, mashed potatoes and lima beans
Sunday: hamburger helper (blech...but it's one of Michael's favorites)
The chile rellenos and the honey grilled pork chops are new recipes, so I will do my best to take pictures and share the recipe -- even if it turns out awful!

Um, complaining about 69 degree weather is just wrong...come a little more north, honey! ;) I'm excited to try Cracker Barrel's butter chicken on Thanksgiving.
I am not a cold-weather kind of girl. I can't help it! We lived in England for a while and I got used to it, but I sure was happy to get back to the South! I heard the butter chicken is very good...you'll have to let me know how you like it!
