Happy Birthday to me!

I am 24 years old today. Well, I will be at 7:10 p.m. My phone is dead and I can't find the charger, so I'm sure I will have tons of missed calls to return. I feel sort of sad because my mama can't get a hold of me. If you're reading this, mama, I'll call you tonight!

By the way -- I finally figured out how to post pictures! I am incredibly thankful. It was right before my eyes the whole time! I told you I wasn't good in the technological department. :)

Sara loves to play outside. Our little girl would stay out there all day long if we let her. She loves to play while I put the clothes out on the line or when I'm taking them in. Sometimes I'm even able to fold them as I take them off the line because she's having such a good time playing. Unfortunately, we killed two snakes in our yard yesterday, so Sara's playing days are going to be scarce for the next little while...until my fear eases up a bit.

Sara & I have had a nice day. This morning we went to the gym, and Sara actually didn't cry when I left her in the child care room! That was a great birthday gift. After I finished working out, we went over to the Main Street Toy Shop and picked up a new cloth diaper and liners from our friend Rachel, who owns Two Little Whales (www.twolittlewhales.com). We got a night time diaper from DryBees, and we can't wait to try it out tonight! We ran a few more errands and came home to pick up the house. We've been playing ever since.

Michael is coming home tonight and cooking Thai Chicken Fettuccine for my birthday supper. :) I have some apple bread to bake and we will watch American Idol tonight. We are such exciting people. :)

I'm technologically illiterate.

But I'm learning.

And that's all that matters....right?

I can't figure out how to get the pictures resized, so until I do, there will just be text here. :) Our lives have been pretty hectic the past couple weeks. Sara and I have both been sick with colds, and mine is still lingering around -- though thankfully she has gotten rid of hers. Last week, our friend Ryan G. (for those of you who don't know -- we had friends that we were stationed with in England staying with us for a few months while the father attended OCS school at our post) graduated Officer Candidate School and they left us. They had been with us for three months, so my house feels very empty. I must say I miss the company! They will eventually be on their way to Germany, or so the Army says. I forsee an international vacation next year. :)

We are in Mississippi at the moment visitng my older sister, Elizabeth, her funny husband Kyle, and two beautiful kids Raven & Will. It has been a weekend of fun in the sun, and I don't want to leave! But I must get back to my own house, and most importantly, my husband. He can't make it with TV dinners much longer!

I think I'll try this again. I'm having a hard time getting the pictures just right, so you'll have to bear with me. I promise I'll do my best to get better!

I think I might eventually get the hang of this. I know now that one or two photos per
post is the most for my unexperienced hands and computer to handle!

Nothing very excited has happened in the past week. I've lost 14 pounds, got a new hair color, done some sewing and played with Sara. Here's a peek at our adventures:

At the beginning of the week, I got Sara's hair in ponytails! (Pay no mind to the date on the picture -- I don't know how to change it.)

She's also decided she likes to walk around in Mama and Daddy's shoes. I managed to sneak this picture of her with my slippers. The
other day I caught her with one black stiletto heel and one pink slipper, but it's most cute when she tries to put Daddy's boots on. I
REALLY need to capture that!

Last September, I purchased a Step 2 slide at the Fort Benning yard sale for $8. I'm pretty sure you can tell by this picture that it has
quickly become Sara's most treasured outdoor toy. That was the best $8 I've ever spent!

This weekend it snowed! I believe we got about 3 or 4 inches. I don't remember this much snow in a long time, even while we lived in England. I do have
pictures of it, but Sara's nap time is nearly over and I still need to fold a load of laundry and finish writing down some recipes. I promise to post at
tomorrow's nap time!
